The children chose which type of penguin habitat they would like to create. We have been collecting items to use for the past few weeks. There are: Antarctica, Rain Forest or the Beach.
The children sounded out words or traced the letters of words. We learned a new game in math using hockey and dominos. Two players spin their domino facing down then flip it over. The player with the greater number says "6 is greater than 5" and they get the point, if the dominos are equal they go in the penalty box!
The past 2 weeks, the children have been learning about penguins. They have been working on a research book which include information on: habitats, predators, food, life cycle. Did you know penguins and polar bears will never meet? Ask your children why. In our sand table I froze some penguins. How can we free them?
