This week we celebrated Pink Shirt Day by sharing how to be kind and how to be a good friend. The children painted and decorated pink shirts, made bracelets and a kindness chain with the whole school. Rhyming is a little tricky sometimes, we learned how to identify and match rhyming words. Our grade 2s were raising money for polar bears, we bought polar bear cookies and dressed in white. Our class made beautiful polar bear paintings. On Friday our buddies helped us with making more polar bears. Letters and NumbersThis week we practiced /f/ and number 8. Number 8 was Very tricky for some students, please practice at home. There were so many school wide activities that we were able to take part in; Sugar Shack, Ice castle, Snow sculptures, Broom ball and hot chocolate. In our classroom, we made ice castles out of tiles and paper blocks. We worked on our fine motors skills by weaving sashes like bonhomme's, tracing and cutting out bonhomme masks. The students drew a picture of their favourite part of Carnaval in their journal. Awesome ice castle!!
