We continued to learn about owls this week. We listened to some different calls and found out where they live. Metis WeekWe are lucky enough to have Mrs. Rivard on staff, grade 1, who is Metis. She taught us about the Metis culture, buffalo, sashes, the jig, red river carts and beautiful beading. We made infinity symbols with beads, other grades did making sashes and pointillism. Next week I will post a picture of the competed bulletin board, I kept a few infinity artifacts for the board, only the children who were willing to part with it for a week or so. I'll send them home when they come down. LettersThis week we practiced /i/. In gym, we have been doing dance. We tried the Red River Jig for Metis week and we followed some other dances.
